Tell me more about becoming a Christian
When people talk about Christianity, they often think it's about following certain Rules, or observing certain Rituals, but the truth is it is all about a Relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that we were all created to have a relationship with God, every one of us. But something got in the way.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..." Romans 3:23
Sin (disobeying God's commands) keeps us from having a relationship with God, the very thing we all need and are searching for. God did not give up on us, though. Instead, He sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins.
"But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!" Romans 5:8
As you saw in the PASSION, Jesus was killed on a cross. He died for your sins, as well as the sins of the whole world. Then, he was also raised to life as proof that he was God's Son, able to cover our sins. Now, through the work of Jesus, you have an opportunity to begin a relationship with God.
"All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ..." 2 Cor. 5:18 So, how can you begin a relationship with God? By asking for God's forgiveness, believing in Jesus death and resurrection as the payment for your sins, and committing your life to the Lord. You can do this right now, by praying:
1) God, I ask for your forgiveness for my sin
2) I trust in Jesus' death and resurrection to make things right between you and me
3) I commit my life to following you, no matter what.
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
